Casual Challenge - 1 Skirt: 3 Looks|| Full Skirt Again! X In Moda Fashion Show

Hi guys! So I had planned that my next post would be about the new trend Vinyl. Which I was extremely excited about. Unfortunately the ever so fabulous British weather shattered my eagerness. It has been raining non stop which meant we couldn't shoot outside. We decided to create our own little studio and carried on with the shoot. The vinyl pictures turned out to be a disaster so I thought it would be a great idea to try again. It's not all doom and gloom as I managed to get some good pictures in other fits.

It seems that most of my posts are more or less 'dressy' so I wanted to try something else for the next few posts. Today's post in on the full skirt again. I just can't get enough of them! I saw this skirt in Miss Selfridge after I had done the full skirt post. It's PU and I love the leather look it has. I wanted to dress it down a bit so the looks I styled were somewhat casual. I don't have much to say as the Full Skirt post has pretty much explained why I love it.

Let's get plaid!| Tartan| AW13 Tartan (Trendspotting)

I feel as though every season there's an 'obvious' trend which I expect myself to do. By obvious of course I mean the most popular trend. It almost feels cliche to make the 'obvious' post but I would feel incomplete! More relevantly, plaid took over the catwalks everywhere. Naturally, as soon as I noticed the trend I went to Burberry; notoriously known for it's checkered style. To my surprise, this season Burberry stayed well clear from the plaid trend. In which other designers worked to perfection in different styles such as tartan, tweed and even hounds tooth. With that being said, tartan was the most popular. Initially the thought of tartan sends me to a thought bubble of masculine ensembles (which ironically is also in season - tailored). However I think this season, it has been given an edgy look to make it more fun. Moreover, I think Moschino plaid it well (ha see what I did there). Moschino was my absolute favorite collection for this trend; I understand that those who don't quite understand the British Heritage will not appreciate this collection (never mind that  Moschino is an Italian designer). But I haven't seen any designer that has pulled off this trend like Moschino has, I haven't watched them all. When wearing tartan, adding a dash of denim makes the trend easy to wear. If you decided to wear a tailored suit in plaid then you would've managed a double entrendre, ticking two seasonal trends in one go.

A warm welcome to myself *applause*.... Thank you Thank you. I would like to apologize for the inconsistency! I have been EXTREMELY busy the past 4 months! After graduating adult life took me by surprise. It's all good news however. I have embarked on a career journey. I can't say much at this point but I love my current job and it reflects my personality very well ... No chance of fluctuation as of now... Hopefully. On top of it all, I have been such a busy bee I've been contemplating whether to carry on blogging or not!*gasps*. I mean it's only fair; I don't have the time for it anymore unfortunately. As those who know me would've predicted it was only a matter of time till Coco got her mojo back. And it's good to be back to say the least. I have so many ideas I would like to share with you.

Now that the re-intro is out of the way, I would like to really get into what this post is really about.

The Deets : AW13 Trends

CHANEL COUTURE
ACNE RTW
Can we take a moment to be grateful for what a collective of my fave disgner's have in store for us- literally. This fall we are going to notice the Sports Luxe go through a transition, the designs of the garments themselves retain a masculine form yet the colours used and in which way the material is tweaked adds a touch of femininity, though if you aren't a big fan you could always go for the mid-century trend which includes nipped skirts and a wide body and still you still get to explore with the men's material.

Trendspotting: ss13 Zara Skort

It feels like I have disappeared the face of the earth! I have been extremely busy the past month. Have to give Thanks to Cherish for being consistent with the blog. I wanted to do this post over a month ago. The pictures were taken that long ago but I didn't want to upload them simply because the shoot was taken in the evening so the pictures came out dark and rather unflattering. But I got over it, so here goes...

*apply American accent* What is it?? Is it a skirt? Are they shorts? NO! it's a SKORT!!
So I bought this mini skort from Zara. Dissect that word and its a skirt-short. It's still in stock for £25.99. It's worth every penny I think. It's been so popular with bloggers too! I absolutely love it. Even fashion icons such as Olivia Palermo and model Karolina Kurkova have been spotted in a skort. They are so chic and up to date. I remember back in February/ March when I did the spring/ summer 13 trend report. I stated that asymmetrics would be in this season, but I did mention I weren't quite sure how the high street would embrace this trend. And voila!! It's the skort! I love it because it can be easily be dressed up or dressed down. It proving to be my go-to summer staple!

The Generic ; Booty Shorts

Hey Guys! Before I start id like to say it seems my newest styling post articles are creating a buzz, It really shows! The stats went right up and I cant be more grateful! Thank you guys.

Material x Silhouette

Hey Guys,

Its been an awful while, I've noticed in the time I've been away Coco's managed to generate a lot of viewer and comments. Chuffed! So in the time I've been away I turned 21 and started work properly no more training for a while, other than that nothing new. I also styled Coco's last shoot and realised Im better at that than styling myself, in my opinion. It was an exciting experience in comparison to doing so for myself perhaps because I can truly see my end product.

I’m somewhat excited to be doing this post. I have been looking for a perfect pair (or pairs in my case) that I could style to my perfect look. Yes, I finally admit to having a ‘style’. I have ‘a look!!’ **fireworks and shooting stars**. Speaking of, I won £100 of Topshop Vouchers on TIW (todayimwearing.com). It’s a fashion-photo sharing networking site that every fashion lover will adore. I posted a few looks (new and old), and to my surprise some of them were made editor’s picks! I was more than thrilled when I actually won. They did a small interview and picked a few of the looks I had posted. If you are interested in more about my fortunate acquisition, here’s the link https://www.todayimwearing.com/style-star-of-the-week-coco-mantsebo/ . I am yet to spend my vouchers and I’ll be sure to let you know what I bought with them.

Buckle up people. This post is going to be a bit longer than usual.

Monochrome ss13 & Mixing Prints: It's all about black and white!

So here's the obvious post! Ha wondered how long it would be till I did the monochrome post. I decided to not be too predictable by just wearing black and white and what better way to execute this trend than mix prints? Mixing spots, checks or stripes and even mixing the same patterns allows you to rock one of the 60’s classic styles considering that spring/ summer of 2013 is significantly inspired by the 1960s, (greatly showcased by Louis Vitton taking on the mod look). The reason why I love monochrome so much is because it’s a classic style and as simple as it’s ought to be, I think it’s a perfect trend for you to add a pop of colour. A novel perspective for it, 60’s with a touch of 2013! I came up with a few fits to show off this style. I was quite excited about the whole idea of mixing prints, especially spots and stripes. If not that then I would just add a pop of color to the outfit.

Trendspotting: ss13 All White: All White Trend

Of course black and white is tremendously trending this season. But white alone is the new black! It's a summer staple; it's light, it's 'pure', it's chic and it's clean. All white is never an easy color to pull off, unless of course it's your wedding day. A lot of people are quite apprehensive about wearing this color but in all honesty it's not an intimidating color to wear; although it does draw a lot of attention, it is one of the colors that imply minimalism.  You cannot possibly over do it. Simplicity is key. A vast majority of the ss13 shows had this trend, I tried not to lean towards the obvious choices such as Chanel and Celine in choosing looks to put up.
White is not an easy color to wear so if you want to create an ensemble, you will find the items you bought thinking were white are actually not as white as you thought when you start to compare them. Some may seem 'whiter' than others. This is absolutely fine as it gives you more options when you go for off white colors or pastel whites. It also reduces the attention to your outfit as compared to when you are wearing whites of the same textures. Also!! Don't over accessorize. Simple jewelry will be perfect.

The Building Center I

Its seemingly becoming a routine that I spend some me time before another hectic week, and each week becoming much more hectic than the last. I feel I'm slowly attaining my prime- though questionable at times when I look at perhaps how young I am *shrug my prime shouldn't be defined by my earth day. Today's decision to visit The Building Center was after I watched 'The South Bank Show ; Norman Foster' the man behind the Gherkin, The Sainsbury's Center and The Honk Kong and Shanghai Bank (HSBC) on Sky Arts. I enjoy starting new projects but being a person with an extravert temperament I tend not to complete these projects, I've set myself the life long goal of always doing as I say I intend on doing.

Ultimate Love | Maison Martin Margiela

My obsession with simplicity has lead to other levels on obsession with neutral colours, and my obsession with designers with an almost set neutral or monochrome pallet as well as all this amazing stuff monochrome and muted colours are on trend. I love how colour isn't so much the focus its more the construction of the piece and the material used. I appreciate good material more than I should perhaps. I feel things like this will lead the great depression reliving it self for the rest of my earth life. Oh well! I introduce Maison Martin Margiela, made up of the man him self and his grande team of designers starting with Ann Demuelemeester, Dries Van-Noten, Walter Van Beirendock, Dirk Bikkembergs, Dir Van-Saene last but not least Marina Yee. Yes, you would have guessed right by now- I am going to stalk each and every designer there and immerse myself in their talents! I found this video on DAZEDdigital and fell in love with the setting, the styling, the models, the lighting, the construction the eerie music- Tres fantastique! *sigh.. Just look!

I'm having a panic attack, look. at. my. Maison. Martin. Margeila. Sha'pp'n Lehst! (wish list)
